Wondering Where Is The Nature?

Hi community, it’s karl again, and I have some great news for you! I was walking through Birkenhead town centre and stumbled upon a welcoming double-fronted shop, which intrigued me. A new shop in town with a double front—exciting, right? I went inside, exploring and lingering, and to my surprise, I recognized every picture on the wall. They had an impressive display for the community to see, and not just that, they actively encourage the community to visit, interact, and provide feedback.

Exploring the Nature Park and Its Rejuvenation Journey

Have you ever been on The Wirral train line from Hamilton Square to Chester? Once upon a time, there was an old diesel line that ran the same route. The old diesel lines remain there unused for many years, going into disrepute! One thing to come from the waste of metal is that our beloved Birch Trees flourish there in the thousands.

It is one of the most beautiful scenes of nature you will ever see! All Our Birch Trees in straight lines, standing to attention and wind-swept, is a view you can only see in Our Wirral. The way Our birch trees have evolved around the old railways is a view you can only see here, out of all the World! because it is unique to our old diesel line : )

90s Nostalgia Near The New Nature Park

I have referred to “living through the 90’s” in a previous Article/Blog, but if you ask anyone what it was like then? I am almost sure 90% will say “different, it really was.” Well, my friends and I used to hang around this very same stretch of diesel line about 25 years ago, as there was an old terminal spot near the entrance to the Liverpool tunnel.

This adventurous terminal spot was nowhere near the new “live” railway lines! This is why I feel obliged to write this Article/Blog, and only with the agreement from the company involved. I knew straight away, if they agreed I would be doing this story : ) They are working to transform the old diesel railway lines into a nature park.

Interviews with The Nature Park Pioneers

My first meeting with the company involved in this nature park development was unforgettable. At times, I stutter during meetings, and my emotions may get the best of me due to my deep passion for projects that bring the community together. In my experience, sharing emotions, whether good or bad, always feels better when we talk about them.

Discovering Where Is The Nature

My first meeting with the company involved in this nature park development was unforgettable. At times, I stutter during meetings, and my emotions may get the best of me due to my deep passion for projects that bring the community together. In my experience, sharing emotions, whether good or bad, always feels better when we talk about them.

Three of the team gave me about 10 minutes of their time to talk about their project. I managed to get interviews with all three separately from each other. Each interview, I felt the same honesty and passion. They really want to make this Nature Park a reality for us, on our Wirral. The chance to see their honesty and their passion face to face was honouring! I could not have felt more welcome and in awe of their professionalism regarding “everything” involved.

Dreaming of Bike Lanes, Refreshment Stalls, and Open-Seated Concerts

On the high street of Birkenhead town center, where there used to be lots of shops with products for £1, you can find this double-fronted shop. Its sole purpose is to gather community feedback about the future Nature Park. Not only that, you can actually have a very big say in how the park will be run and formed! This project is at the very early stage, and we have the chance to visit the shop and literally help shape this Nature Park.

The team at the shop asks us: do we want a bicycle lane? do we want a refreshment stall halfway? do we want an open-seated concert/theatre stage halfway? I might have cheekily suggested “interactive community notice boards,” but one of our biggest points we made together is: do we want to save one of the last birch tree forests in Birkenhead? Remember, it’s our Birch! Do You Want To Save It?

Where Is The Nature in Biodiversity?

The creation of the Nature Park holds massive benefits for all forms of wildlife, including the tiniest inhabitants – the insects. As the natural attraction unfolds, we watch a brand new ecosystem emerge. This provides a safe haven for a diverse range of animal species and plant life.

The lush greenery and natural habitats offer a perfect breeding ground for countless birds, mammals, and reptiles. Who knows, we might even spot a very rare “yellow belly newt”. These are creatures I have seen before on Our Wirral, looking amazing under a stone! They are very rare and endangered, primarily due to urban living.

Insects are particularly important to our newspaper. They play a vital role in pollination, which is essential to the plants and flowers in the Nature Park. They feed on the sweet nectar and, in return, the plants provide perfect nesting grounds for these insects. This is a flourishing ecosystem that we are giving back to Nature. From colourful butterflies fluttering about to cheeky bees buzzing from bloom to bloom, these small creatures work tirelessly to maintain the delicate web of life in the Park.

Clues and Community Feedback

After the interviews, they allowed me to take pictures of all their plans for the Nature Park, and I must say, wow!

While our newspaper usually asks for your feedback regarding Articles/Blogs, I urge you to take all your feedback about the Nature Park directly to the shop in town. Just a little DYOR (Do Your Own Research) will lead you to this shop, and we’ve left some clues in this Article/Blog, including a big clue in the pictures.

My Disclaimer

This is a personal community blog from me, karl loftus RLWJ, I really do hope that we can all get together and give as much feedback to the company involved in the Nature Park. It looks amazing and, most of all, it preserves Our Birch Tree and Poppies : ) I got a strong feeling from my interviews that the more The Wirral get involved in this part of the process, then the more chance we have to make this a reality.

Lets Dream Big “#BirchAnPoppy”

Let’s Go!!!
